Stream Delineations

Decota has years of experience conducting stream delineations in preparation of jurisdictional determinations by both federal and state regulatory agencies. Decota utilizes WVDEP’s “Guidance for the Delineation of Ephemeral/Intermittent Streams” while performing these field investigations. Decota staff has extensive experience identifying the ordinary high-water mark (OHWM), the ephemeral/intermittent (E/I) point, and the perennial/intermittent (P/I) point of a stream. Understanding and identifying these morphological indicators are crucial as many regulatory decisions and mitigation requirements are based upon their presence or absence.
